Jadarr - a bridge between two food cultures

Jadarr is an exclusive fish sauce created by star chef Kjartan Skjelde and food scientist Trung Nguyen. It combines Norwegian ingredients with Vietnamese fermentation traditions for a unique flavor experience. Strømme Throndsen Design developed the brand from the ground up – from name and visual identity to packaging and strategic positioning.
The name Jadarr originates from the Old Norse word "jaðarr," meaning "the edge of the sea," reflecting the product’s role as a bridge between culinary cultures. We balanced Nordic minimalism with Asian details, crafting a logo inspired by Norse inscriptions with subtle calligraphic elements. The clear glass bottle, wooden cork, and exclusive gift packaging emphasize quality and sustainability.
Jadarr is a premium product with a strong international identity, functional aesthetics, and a narrative that fosters emotional connection. A fish sauce with global appeal – and an unforgettable taste experience.
