Home Chef is a range of premium broths and sauces for the enthusiastic home cook. The range is made from the finest and most natural Norwegian ingredients cooked in the purest water with no additives by those with thorough agricultural knowledge and culinary acumen. The design needed to communicate the opportunity to create restaurant quality meals at home in a simple yet informative way.
We sought to create a series that reflects the consumer’s everyday home kitchen, to convey product differentiation quickly and stand out on a shelf often filled with large imagery and a vast variety of colours. With this in mind, we created a clean and simple approach as a way to establish an immediate contrast alongside the brand’s competitors whilst also conveying the product’s quality and purity of ingredients.

Colour coding each product not only allowed us to create a system that could be easily navigated by the everyday consumer but also give each product a distinct character linked to the ingredients themselves. Colour blocking and single illustration delivered a clear focus on integral ingredients, while positioning Home Chef as more commercial than Salsus, a slow-cooked stock range, from the same company.
